Can you rent a car once you are over 70?
You can, but it depends on the rental company that you choose to rent a vehicle from. If you are over the age of 70, you may face surcharges or worse, you might not be able to rent a vehicle at all.
Older drivers also get discriminated against because of insurance premiums for their age.
With some car rental companies, they will hire to drivers over 75 years old if they can show a valid medical certificate. One of these companies is Hertz. The rental decision is also at the discretion of the car rental company and the hiring depot.
If you are unable to hire a car because of your age, you will need to organise car hire with another driver.
